I think it's already proven that cicada is just an clever ARG.

1st. If cicada was real, why there isn't any members, or ex-members or something, so logically cicada dont exist

2nd. Valve/The Crowbar collective made similar ARGs, and ppl knew much years later

3rd. Brotherbox and his friends are dumb

I know, i know, this post is 3 years old. But i thought it worthy of response because of lurkers and casuals like myself who can stumble across it once they hear of cicada 3301.

Your conclusions are fallacious assumptions, im afraid. Heres why.

1. Given that security experts have looked for shadows or fingerprints of who created this puzzle and come back with nothing, except the obvious, you CANNOT mzke such assumptions. Furthermore, what we do know is that the puzzle has been created by smart, well read, tech savvy individual(s) which has thus far lasted 7 years. That mindset does not lend to leaking, getting bored and giving up, nor falling out and leaking stuff. Also, theres every chance it is a very small group of individuals, maybe just 2 or 3. Secrets DO happen.

2. Valve and others have indeed done goodnARGs, but assuming theyre the same is ridiculous. They share one thing - they use tech based puzzles. Thats it. More importantly, there has been ZERO evidence of any clue of a product or monetization ever, and ALL promotional args are time sensitive for obvious reasons. No company would play a game with a life of 7 years thus far. If they dont get solved in time, the product still comes out. There is therefore no reason to assume there is ANY ulterior motive behind this.

3. Name calling without justification. Grow up. You can only be justified if you provide evidence why theybare dumb. You offer none.
